friday fiction in fifteen ~ from thy balcony

march from thy balcony friday fic in 15

Today’s fiction in fifteen is actually a poem. I imagine a beloved on the balcony with the loved below, expresses her heart. enjoy!

{a letter from a loved, to her beloved}

My beloved ~

I awoke with you again on my mind

And greeted the day as one searching.

Where are you my love? And when will I next breathe in your scent?

Only for you do I rise, only for your amorous words do I face what’s next.

My feet move forward, and they take me places,

places that I never thought to wander.

Yet here I am, gazing up at the balcony on which you once appeared to me.

Searching for you once again.

My passion for you burns, and I recall your words of love,

Your words of promise.

A promise of a future, and your never ending love to guide me.

And to that promise I hold, each day looking for you,

for the day you will come for me.

There you stand, on the balcony of our first encounter,

waiting for me, just as you promised you would.

I see you, and you see me seeing.

I look for a way to you, steps to reach your side,

To receive what is mine ~ your love.

For I am yours

and you are mine.

Forever in a passionate embrace.

Your turn!  Set your timer to 15 minutes and write from your heart. Write a poem, write a letter, begin a great piece of fiction!  I would love to see what passions this picture creates.

Leave a comment!  And if you have written something about this picture, I would love to see it!

6 word stories: got one?

In keeping with the 5 minute Friday idea, let’s try something a bit different.  Have you ever heard of 6 word stories?

It is a complete story in that the words you choose create an implied story and a picture of what is going on or what happened.

I am inspired by pictures, so here is the picture that I used for my story:

and here are the resulting 6 words:

At last breath, hospitality found me.

and my husband wanted to contribute today as well: no picture thankfully:)

I thought it was a fart.

…O BOY!

What are your 6 word story?  use my picture…or not. I would love to read them!!  leave one in the comments below!!

Harvest Haiku too!

harvest haiku

I participated in a Haiku war the other day on the Steve Laube agency blog – it was so much fun!  So  I thought it might be entertaining to continue the creative inspiration here.  These are my Harvest Haiku’s:

leaf and grass ripen
golden as the dawning sun
nature’s praise to God

golden embers bright
brought forth by a morning light
the fires of autumn

Are you a poet?  Or just like stringing words together?  A Haiku is a Japanese poem that follows a set pattern of syllables in 3 lines, and creates a word picture.

  • 1st line – 5 syllables
  • 2nd line – 7 syllables
  • 3rd line – 5 syllables

I would love to hear what you come up with! Weave your web of words, and share your harvest haiku in the comments below!  It’s great fun!
